Sarah Buck is a Senior Manager of Government and Public Affairs for a newly-formed, national team at Cox Communications that is dedicated to identifying broadband expansion opportunities in areas that are unserved or underserved and are within 30 miles of Cox’s current service area footprint. As part of this team, Sarah works with both internal and external partners to tell Cox’s expansion story through the lens of Government and Public Affairs. Her focus is on working towards building a better future through digital equity which includes both access and affordability.
Prior to Cox, Sarah worked for SUPERVALU, leading public, community, and government relations for the Farm Fresh Food & Pharmacy and Shoppers Food & Pharmacy grocery chains.
Sarah serves on the Virginia Peninsula Chamber’s Board of Directors, Executive Committee, and LEAD Committee and is a past president of the Public Relations Society of America’s Hampton Roads Chapter. Sarah also volunteers in the community supporting organizations like the Girl Scouts, Alzheimer’s Association, and several environmental organizations.
Sarah has a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies from Virginia Tech. She is a graduate of the WICT (Women in Cable Telecommunications) Rising Leaders Program, Georgia Institute of Technology’s Management Development Program, and a 2022 LEAD Peninsula Graduate. In 2016, Sarah was recognized as one of Hampton Roads’ Top 40 Under 40 by Inside Business and is a Girl Scout Council of Colonial Coast’s Future Famous Former.
Sarah lives in Virginia Beach with her husband Chris and 5-year-old son Winston. When she’s not talking broadband, she enjoys reading, DIY-ing, and exploring the region with her family and friends.
