Rising Tide
On Thursday, March 20th, the Virginia Peninsula Chamber hosted our quarterly Rising Tide event, focused on “Caregiving and Economic Impact”. The event featured a distinguished group of speakers and panelists, including Dr. Jane Glasgow (Minus 9 to 5), William Massey (Peninsula Agency on Aging), Dr. Jennifer Parish (Peake Childhood Center), and Adelia Thompson (Peninsula Community Foundation). This event focused on the role that caregiving plays in our community, covering topics such as early childhood care and education, the cost of childcare and elder care, and the significant economic impact these services have on the region. The speakers also highlighted the critical connection between childcare and economic growth, as well as the important support systems available for caregivers.
